Tertiary Mirror for the GTC
AMOS has been appointed by GTC to supply the Tertiary Mirror Unit for the Gran Telescopio Canarias.
This unit includes a flat mirror of elliptical shape (size: 1 500 mm * 1 000 mm) of high surface quality (surface error lower than 17 nm RMS) polished and figured by LZOS and a sophisticated mechanical cell designed and fabricated by AMOS.
This cell allows to let the mirror point in any direction between horizon and zenith while minimising the mirror deformation under gravity and keeping its overall surface quality.
Customer: Gran Telesccopio Canarias (10m) - SPAIN
