Space simulator for testing satellite for ISRO
ISRO ordered to AMOS a 400 cubic meters vacuum vessel (10 meters long, 6,5 meters in diameter and weighting 50 tons) for their site in Bangalore.
This thermal-vacuum chamber is a simulator of space environment. It reproduces the temperatures and vacuum that space hardware encounters in space. It is used for the testing of satellites before their lauch and for critical payloads . The pressure is 10-6 to mbar (a billionth of the normal atmospheric pressure) and the temperature can vary from -200 to +180 degrees Celsius.
