AMOS completed end 2016 the system needed to support and move the 4m primary mirror of the DKIST telescope installed in Hawaii.
This machine needed to have a high reliability and precision, as the telescope mirror is a thin mirror: it has a thickness of only 10 cm for a diameter of 4m.
The machine ensures that the mirror is not distorted during operations and allows human operators to inspect and clean the mirror surface without endangering it.
